In the following I will inform you about the processing of personal data in the context of the use of my website.
Responsible for this website is the “Mind Gap” – Praxis für Psychotherapie, Coaching und Beratung (Dorotheenstraße 10, 42115 Wuppertal). Further information about my practice and the responsible persons can be found in the publisher.
Legal basis of the data processing
In order to be able to offer you my website and related services, I process personal data on the basis of the following legal principles:
- Consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) DS-GVO)
- for the performance of contracts (Article 6(1)(b) of the DS-GVO
- on the basis of a balancing of interests (Art. 6 (1) (f) DS-GVO)
- to fulfil a legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c) of the DS-GVO)
I will refer to the relevant terms in connection with the respective processing, so that you can classify on which basis I process personal data.
If personal data are processed on the basis of your consent, you have the right to withdraw this consent at any time with effect for the future.
If I process data on the basis of a balancing of interests, data subjects have the right to object to the processing of their personal data, taking into account the provisions of Art. 21 DS-GVO.
When you visit my website, personal data is processed in order to display the contents of the website on your terminal device.
In order for the pages to be displayed in your browser, the IP address of the terminal device you use must be processed. In addition, further information about the browser of your terminal device is also processed.
I am obliged by data protection law to also guarantee the confidentiality and integrity of the personal data processed with my IT systems.
For this purpose and out of this interest, the following data will be logged on the basis of a weighing of interests:
- IP address of the calling computer
- Operating system of the calling computer
- Browser version of the calling computer
- Name of the retrieved file
- Date and time of retrieval
- data volume transferred
- Referring URL
The IP address will be deleted after 14 days at the latest from all systems used in connection with the operation of these Internet pages. I can no longer create a personal reference from the remaining data. The data is also used to determine and correct errors on the Internet pages.
I offer a contact form on my website where you can request information about my range of services or contact me in general (e.g. to make an appointment). I have marked the mandatory data required by you to answer an inquiry as mandatory fields. Entries in other data fields or a file upload are voluntary. I need this information to process your inquiry, to contact you correctly and to send you an answer. The data processing is carried out in the case of concrete inquiries for the fulfilment of a treatment contract or the initiation of a treatment contract. In the case of general enquiries, processing is based on a weighing of interests. Inquiries received via the contact form on my website are processed electronically in order to answer your enquiry. In this context, further persons and possibly third parties may also become aware of the contents of the form which you have sent. The transmission of the form data via the Internet is done via encrypted connections.
Cookies are used on my website. Cookies are small pieces of text information that are stored in your terminal device via your browser. The cookies are necessary to enable certain functions of my website.
The web analysis tool “Google Analytics” is used on this website. The purpose of the use is the “needs-based design” of this website, which is carried out on the basis of a weighing of interests. The web analysis also enables me to detect and correct website errors, e.g. due to incorrect links. Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”. These are text files which are stored on your computer and which enable an analysis of your use of the website. So-called “client IDs” are used to create pseudonymous user profiles which record the use of the website by desktop computers and mobile devices by a user. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Since I have activated the so-called IP anonymisation on this website and have concluded a corresponding contract processing agreement with Google, your IP address will, however, be shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area before. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the USA and shortened there.
Google Web Fonts
I use so-called “Google Webfonts” on my website. These fonts are loaded from Google servers, which serve to improve the design of the website. The data processing is based on a balancing of interests, whereby my interest lies in an attractive design of the website. The fonts in question are loaded from Google’s servers, which are usually located in the USA. The appropriate level of data protection is guaranteed by Google (“Privacy Shield”).
On this website I use the offer of Google Maps to visually present geographical information. When using Google Maps, Google collects, processes and uses data on the use of the Maps functions by visitors to the website. In addition, the above-mentioned access data is transmitted to Google. Further information about data processing and your rights in this regard, as well as setting options for protecting your privacy, can be found in Google’s data protection information: http://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy
Google also processes your personal data in the USA and has submitted to the EU-US “Privacy Shield”.

Purposes of the processing of personal data
I process the aforementioned data for the operation of our website and for the fulfilment of contractual obligations towards my patients or for the protection of my legitimate interests. In case of inquiries from you outside an active patient relationship, I process the data for the purposes of sales and advertising. You can object to the use of your personal data for advertising purposes at any time.
If you provide data to me voluntarily, e.g. in forms, and these are not necessary for the fulfilment of our contractual obligations, I process these data in the justified assumption that the processing and use of these data is in your interest.
Data that you provide to me will not be passed on to third parties. In particular your data will not be passed on to third parties for their advertising purposes. However, I use service providers for the operation of this website or for further products or services of mine. Here it can happen that a service provider gets knowledge of personal data. I select my service providers carefully – especially with regard to data protection and data security – and take all measures required by data protection law for permissible and trustworthy data processing.
Data processing outside the European Union
Insofar as personal data is processed outside the European Union, you can see this in the previous explanations.
