The group therapy “Your life, your rules: Values as a compass in difficult times” is aimed at young adults with mental health conditions, particularly in connection with adjustment disorders, depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, or eating disorders. The aim of the group is to support participants in identifying personal values, gaining orientation in challenging phases of life, and increasingly aligning their lives with their own convictions rather than with symptoms, fears, or external expectations.
Many mental health conditions are accompanied by self-doubt, insecurity, avoidance behaviour, or the feeling of having lost touch with one’s own needs and goals. In the group, participants explore the question of what truly matters to them in life and which values can guide their actions in the long term. They are also shown how personal values can serve as a source of orientation, especially in times of psychological distress.
A key focus of the therapy is distinguishing between short-term symptom relief and long-term values-based action. Participants learn to recognise unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviour and to develop ways of taking steps towards a fulfilling and self-determined life despite difficult feelings, fears, or insecurities.
Through therapeutic conversations, reflection exercises, and exchange with other young adults, personal resources are strengthened and individual goals are developed. The group offers a protected space to reflect on one’s own experiences, gain new perspectives, and further develop one’s identity independently of the mental health condition.
This service is provided as part of group psychotherapy and is fully covered by statutory health insurance. The prerequisite is attending a psychotherapeutic consultation, during which indication and expectations are discussed.
Cost coverage by private health insurance depends on your agreed insurance benefits. Participation as a self-paying patient is possible.
