Loss and Grief

Overview

The prevention course “Loss and Grief” guides participants in better understanding experiences of loss and grief processes, and in developing healthy ways of dealing with the associated feelings. The aim of the course is to strengthen mental health, promote individual coping strategies, and support personal resilience in challenging life situations.

The course addresses various forms of loss and grief. Participants receive information about typical reactions to experiences of loss and learn to perceive their own feelings, thoughts, and needs more consciously. It is conveyed that grief is an individual and natural process that requires time and space.

Another focus is on dealing with distressing emotions such as sadness, anger, guilt, or helplessness. Through mindfulness-based methods, reflection exercises, and group exchange, ways are shown to accept one’s own grief and gradually process it. At the same time, personal resources are strengthened, and self-care strategies are taught.

Participants learn to accept changes in life, develop new perspectives, and foster their inner stability. The course combines theoretical knowledge with practical exercises and everyday impulses to support individual coping with loss and grief.

The course serves as prevention and health promotion and does not replace psychotherapeutic or medical treatment.
